City of Gillette Press Release:
City of Gillette offices will be closed on Friday, July 4th in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
There will be no trash*, recycling and yard waste collection on Friday, July 4th. The City’s Solid Waste Division will run double routes on Monday, July 7th and pick up Friday and Monday’s trash, recycling and yard waste. Please have your roll-out and recycling at the curb by 7 a.m.
City offices will re-open on Monday, July 7th.
The Fourth of July Parade, hosted by Campbell County Parks & Recreation, will begin at 10 a.m. at the corner of 2nd Street and 4J Road and end at the 2nd Street/Osborne Avenue. Parade Map [PDF] It is anticipated that the 2nd Street/Gillette Avenue intersection will remain closed until the parade begins, and then the intersection will open up for through traffic after the parade is over. Please plan accordingly.
4th of July Events in Gillette Wyoming
6:45 am Gillette Physical Therapy 4 Mile Run/Walk
The event starts at 7:15 am at the Bicentennial Park soccer fields. You can register on race day until 6:45 am
6-9 am Pancake Feed
Thousands of pancakes will be served during the volunteer firefighters’ pancake feed. It is from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Campbell County Fire Station No. 1. About 30 volunteer firefighters will mix up batches of pancake batter and serve more than a thousand people. All they ask for is a donation in return.
9 am Registration for activities at Bicentennial Park.
10 am Parade

Free Hot Dog Feed
The free hot dog feed begins at Noon near softball field four, just West of the concession stand building. Apparently 6,000 hot dogs, 300 large bags of chips 7000 paper plates and drinks will be served. There is nothing more American than a good ol’ fashion BBQ.
The Kids games begin at Noon at Goat Roper Field. There will be a bean bag toss, ring toss, face painting and more!
Chalk It Up
Do you have an Artsy flare? Starting at Noon on the basketball courts, participants will be given a bag of chalk and a square of concrete. They will have about two hours to create a piece of sidewalk art. Even though most work centers around the Fourth of July, there are no rules to the art contest. Any age may participate.
Are you a dirty boy or girl? Do you want to be? Check out the Mud Volleyball at Noon on the North side of the park. Teams will play for nearly three hours, in the single-elimination tournament. There will be three pits to accommodate a total of 48 co-ed teams, which each include six people. The winners will sport fresh T-shirts, declaring them the victors.
Firemen Water Fights
Starting at Noon on the North side of the park, come and cool off during the summer heat!
KOOL 105.3 hosts a live band (TBA) North of the concession stand building.
Gillette’s annual fireworks display will start at 10:00 p.m. at Cam-Plex.
